Bold Colours for a Happy Home……
Dulux bold colour scheme
Choosing bold colours can be an intimidating journey.
Should you take the plunge or stick to what you know?
Here's a tip: just go for it! After all, it’s just paint. If you really hate it, you can always change it. Embracing bold colours can significantly enhance your mood and transform the atmosphere of your home.
Why Bold Colours?
Bold colours can be used in a variety of ways: as a feature wall, to create a moody, cosy atmosphere, or to add a dash of fun to a kids' room. To ensure you’re making the right choice, grab some A4-sized sample cards from Dulux or small paint pots and test a patch on your wall. Observe how the colour changes with different lighting throughout the day.
Another tip: if you’re using more than one bold colour, keep within the same undertone. Sample cards can be very helpful in this regard.
My Favourite Bold Colours
Here are some of my favourite bold colours from Dulux:
Bracken Green
Green reminds me of nature and embodies harmony, tranquility, and peace. It’s perfect for creating a serene environment in living rooms or bedrooms.
Bruised Burgundy
This colour exudes royalty, sophistication, and luxury. It’s ideal for a dining room or a formal sitting area where you want to impress guests.
Stream
Blue is one of my go-to colours. It creates a sense of calm, restfulness, and security. Use it in bedrooms or bathrooms for a tranquil atmosphere.
Black Cavier
This almost-black shade with a hint of grey is great for features like a front door or contrast trim. It adds a touch of elegance and modernity to any space.
Personal Tips and Experiences
From my experience, bold colours have the power to completely transform a space. For instance, painting my bedroom in Stream blue has made it a sanctuary where I can unwind and relax. Meanwhile, the living room, adorned with Bracken Green, now feels like a serene retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
Don’t shy away from bold colours. They can bring life, personality, and a positive vibe to your home. Happy painting!
