Iconic Mid Century Modern Chairs….
In this weeks blog I’m going to explore one of my favorite styles and eras. Mid Century Modern. And my most favorite feature about this era are the chairs. If I could have one of each in my house I would.
Approximately between 1940 to 1975 was one of the most prolific and impactful time periods in furniture history. Mid century furniture rejected the detailed and overly ornate designs of the centuries prior to it.
Minimalism captured the designers of Europe and the United states. And mass produced furniture began to increase.
Mid Century became all about function over form as prior to this era aesthetics was more important than function. Mid century furniture would be described as having clean lines,, gentle curves and organic shapes.
Here are my top five but this was so hard to choose there are so many that I love.
