What is E-Design
Some of you may not know what E-Design is, so here is a bit of an inside look at what happens when you choose an e-design package.
E-Design is similar to full service design much of what a designer creates and actions is the same but without the personal meetings and being on site at your home to manage and oversee the project in person.
This service would be conducted remotely via emails and zoom meetings. This means I can create a design from pretty much anywhere in the world. You as the client would need to provide photo’s and measurements of your space.
Firstly I would conduct a discovery call to get an idea of your project and what it involves; you would then be emailed a client questionnaire and I would then start to create your design from this information.
I would create design documentation of your project starting with a 2D floor plan. Space planning is crucial in designing your space. This is where we work out the best configuration for your furniture and how you would use this space. The size of the furniture pieces is really important to know beforehand so all that is required fits in your space and balance is achieved. Plus you don’t want to crack your knee on the coffee table….ouch!!!
The next stage is the concept stage where concept boards or mood boards are created from your design brief. A few options would be provided to establish your perfect style.
A colour palette would be next.
After your chosen design is signed off on from the mood boards and colour palettes; sample boards and materials boards are created with the products chosen for your space.
Full documentation is provided with all the chosen furniture, fittings and equipment. This would include specified furniture, and fittings a shopping list with all the suppliers and links to all these products for you to order as your project proceeds.
A detailed guide on how to action your design and how to set it up once you have all these products delivered to your home.
All this documentation is created as a PDF and will be emailed to you each step of the way. What an exciting process it is to see your vision come to life.
You could also add a 3D model/render package to this service if you are having trouble trying to envision your project . A 3D model created in Sketchup can help with this.
See you in the next post:).
