Hamptons Style……
Hamptons is one of my favourite styles. I love the coastal look and the feel this style creates and invokes. Plus one of my favourite colours is blue so it’s a no brainer for me.
The Hamptons style has been inspired by the villages and hamlets on Long Island in New York. And has become one of Australia's favourite styles given our love of the coast and indoor/outdoor living.

Hamptons interiors are casual and relaxed, think beach living but in a classic and sophisticated way. Hamptons homes give you that holiday home feel. Hamptons is made up of crisp white walls, timber flooring and lots of natural light.
A neutral colour palette is very typical of the Hamptons style. A collection of whites, creams, sand and ivory complemented with differing shades of blue. Other colour combinations include grey tones with green and duck egg blue which I especially love. Plus these colours would be teamed with black accents to highlight these palettes.
Beautiful natural textures like jute, rattan and leather teamed with linen, cotton and wool. An abundance of natural textures, stripes, gingham, ticking and checks often accompany this gorgeous style.
Plump sofas and couches with lots of cushions in differing textures in natural fabrics.
Natural light with exposed mullion windows or plantation shutters and sheer curtaining blowing in the breeze.
Kitchen’s and mud rooms would have shaker style cabinetry and the walls may have wainscotting and dado rails all painted white.
Lots of leafy green indoor plants as a feature compliment and tie this style together with it’s relaxed feel.
Hamptons style doesn’t just have to be limited to coastal homes this style mixes well with a country, traditional and modern style homes as well.
